Public Transport
Routes, stops, timing, and city shape
Public transport networks already contain a game-like structure: named routes, known stops, local shortcuts, busy corridors, delays, habits, landmarks, and the social rhythm of moving through a city.
Why routes make good game boards
A route is linear enough to be understandable but rich enough to create choices. The next stop matters, the previous stop matters, and every city gives those decisions a different texture.
What GTFS contributes
GTFS data lets Route Wars understand route names, stop order, stop coordinates, and patterns. The game uses that data to create a route catalogue and to check whether a player is near the right kind of place to continue a run.
Respecting the network
Route Wars is not an official transport app. Players should use official sources for travel planning and should respect operators, staff, other passengers, fare rules, and public spaces.
