Game Design
Public transport as a game board
A public transport route has an unusual design advantage: it is both fixed and alive. The stops are known, but the experience of moving through them changes with time, crowding, attention, and local habit.
Routes create readable constraints
A route gives players enough structure to make choices legible. You know the next stop, you know the direction, and you can start to learn where good trades tend to happen.
Cities create personality
Harbour cities, hill cities, tram cities, and sprawling bus networks all feel different. Route Wars should let those differences show up through route selection, stop progression, and market events.
